Faith, Hope and Charity
In March 2011 I directed Christopher Hampton's translation of Odon von Horvath's satirical comedy 'Faith Hope and Charity' (1933) at the University of Reading as my final dissertation project. Cast from fellow students and assisted by the faculty of the Film, Theatre & Television department we were able to stage a humorous and hauntingly relevant piece that tells the story of a working class girl in Munich where money is tight, jobs are scarce and any petty infringement of the benfit regulations is viewed as a punishable offence. It was performed in the Myra McCulloch Theatre as part of the third year Film & Theatre Festival.
